Backstory: I'd been listening to a lot of Kashif last year, specifically his '83 solo debut as well as Kenny G's '83 album which Kashif executive produced ('83 was a magical year for Boogie!) So after countless listens I began to pick up on his production nuances and couldn't help see plenty of parallels to Kaytranada (circa 2016). I could go on forever about this theory, but it boils down to this: Kaytranada was inspired by Kashif 100% and took the sound and viewed it thru a Boombappy lens, with all the big drums and chords that came along with it (his Teedra Moses remix is a good example).

Once my mind arrived here, it was a quick jump to wanting to hear how modern R&B songs would sound over Kashif. And boom, this EP was born. I tried to make the 'instrumentals' more musical and not just layer an acapella over the beat. I hope you enjoy. I've played them out a few times already and it's always a good time!
