Inspired by the weeks I spent listening to Dub records this Summer. Eventually, I wanted to incorporate a dubby bassline into a song production. Thankfully, my Drum & Bass-making binge was in full swing, so a Jungle remix quickly became the move.

Back in like 2000 or so, I had a Dr. Sample and was trying to make Drum & Bass. It's probably possible with better skills but at the time, programming the drums was extremely difficult for me to get right. I could only manage a simple bassline and mild sauce drum pattern. I distinctly remember playing it for the first time to a roommate (also, a DnB head) and he said, without flinching "the drums suck but the bassline is ill." Those words always stuck with me, and I've wanted to make the 'real' version of the song, something like the one that existed in my head, ever since then. That might sound dramatic but getting an idea out of your system is a huge relief, and I'm excited (and relieved) to drop this remix finally!

I'm still having fun making Liquid R&B remixes, so this is more of that :) Jill Scott's "Whatever" with a big Dub bassline and a jillion drum chops. Includes the instrumental and a bonus Rihanna remix of "Yeah I Said It" (Which is what I'm calling 'Slow DnB,' but it ends up sounding like Trap lol).
